In many cases, research abroad is required to carry out a successful, complete heir tracing. It is often not apparent at the beginning of a case that the traces may also lead to other countries.

Very often the investigations begin in the former German eastern territories (e.g. Silesia, East and West Prussia, Pomerania, Sudetenland, etc.) and then lead back to Germany as the case progresses. The foundations for successful heir tracing are therefore initially laid abroad. Proof of inheritance must also be obtained abroad and, if necessary, provided with the necessary proof of authenticity (apostille or legalisation). We take care of this, as well as any certified translations of the documents that may be necessary.
